Cotton slippers: What are the benefits?

It is a fact that the foot is one of the parts of the human body where there are sweat glands. Some people tend, for various reasons, to sweat either more or less, but in general terms there is always a certain amount of moisture in our feet. The most common complaint about this particular part of the body is bad breath, excessive sweating and sensitivity. Often these three are also interrelated. Another one is foot fungus. The conditions that fungi like best are when the skin is hot and moist. Especially in the summer when we are forced to wear shoes all day long, the foot gets hot, sweaty, stays moist and the fungi party.

Cotton slippers

Cotton as a material is recommended by the majority of podiatrists and dermatologists to be used as exclusively as possible as a material in socks. Just as with cotton socks, with slippers, the foot breathes properly, moisture is not trapped and fungi do not thrive.

So we would say that cotton slippers are:

  • Skin-friendly and do not cause irritation, no matter how sensitive the skin is
  • Hypoallergenic
  • Anti-microbial
  • Absorb moisture
  • They dry quickly
  • They do not smell as they dry quickly

What materials do we use?

Amaryllis Slippers uses organic cotton as its first basic material, which offers and has some more benefits than conventional cotton.

Organically grown cotton is grown on dedicated land, by farmers who use techniques with less environmental impact than conventionally grown cotton. This means in practice that synthetic fertilisers, herbicides and pesticides that have been proven to damage the subsoil are not used in its production. Water quality is also regularly monitored and the principles of energy saving, biodiversity and healthy soil are promoted.

Conventional cotton, on the other hand, is usually produced using genetically modified seeds and synthetic pesticides designed to maximise the yield of the crop. It is estimated that conventional cotton growers use more than $2.5 billion worth of pesticides annually, making it one of the most toxic crops to grow. In addition, growing cotton has high water requirements, with 400 million tons of water consumed annually, just at the growing stage

How are we taking care of them?

The slippers of our company, apart from hand washing, can also be put in the washing machine at 30º without wringing.

ATTENTION!!

Avoid exposure to the sun, washing at high temperatures and spinning, as they can damage the material!!
