10 smart tips for caring for your feet in winter.

The feet are equally affected during the cold months. The body is designed to protect our vital organs and heat is transferred from the limbs to the organs. Thus, the feet are "sacrificed" to keep the temperature of vital organs, such as the heart, stable! This leads to dehydration in the skin of the feet and cracking. And while in theory, the feet look protected in socks and shoes, in reality, the reduced movement of the feet during the day, combined with the pressure from shoes, makes blood circulation to the limbs even worse. Here are a few tips that will get your feet looking and feeling healthy this winter and ready for the summer months!

1. Keep your feet warm and avoid wearing wet and/or damp shoes. If you want to avoid problems such as bad breath, damp shoes due to perspiration, wear shoes and socks made of organic cotton (See the benefits of cotton slippers here).

2. Take care of the daily hygiene of your feet. It keeps fungal infections and odors away.

4. Use the foot rasp during the bath. Take advantage of the use of warm water that has already softened your feet and gently pass the raspa over the places on your feet where there are stiffnesses. You can use it every time you shower or bathe, as long as you use it without too much pressure to avoid injury.

7. Keep your toenails trimmed. This reduces the risk of toenail trauma (such as ingrown toenails) throughout the season.

8. Choose footwear that fits your foot and is comfortable. Shoes that are too narrow could cause a number of problems in the lower limbs such as, bunions, bunions insertion etc.

9. Use nail oil (cuticle oil) regularly even if you have visited a nail technician, Nail oils are designed for deep hydration and protection of the nail and natural nails.
